Chesapeake Boats Inc. was founded in 1998 by David Mason, a local fisherman who decided to build his own boat designed to work the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Word got out that he was building a boat for himself, and before he completed his boat, someone made him an offer on it that he couldn't refuse. The phone began ringing and one boat a year turned into four boats a year and so on... They say word of mouth is everything in a small town, but for David Mason word of mouth traveled all over the world. From Alaska to Africa, there are boats that bear our name, a name that has been trusted for over 22 years.
